Baharan Baniahmadi is an Iranian writer and actress based in Montreal since 2018. She studied theatre at the Art University of Tehran, and art and philosophy at Université Paris 8. Baniahmadi published a memoir, and short stories while living in Iran. She made her English-language debut with the publication of her allegorical novel Prophetess (Véhicule Press) in the spring of 2022. She is trying to belong to her new country, Canada, and to get to know its people beyond differences of language and culture.
