Trois fois final­iste aux Prix du Gou­verneur général en tra­duc­tion, Éric Fontaine a traduit plus d’une ving­taine d’œuvres, par­mi lesquelles fig­urent celles de Michael Crum­mey, de Craig David­son, de Zsuzsi Gart­ner, de Tom Gauld et d’Emily Schultz. Sa pre­mière tra­duc­tion, T’es con, point de Doug Har­ris, a rem­porté le Prix de la fon­da­tion Cole 2012 de la Que­bec Writ­ers’ Fed­er­a­tion. Il a été reçu en rési­dence au Cen­tre inter­na­tion­al de tra­duc­tion lit­téraire de Banff (CITLB) et au Col­lège inter­na­tion­al des tra­duc­teurs lit­téraires à Arles. En 2018, il a fait par­tie du corps enseignant du CITLB. Il vit à Mon­tréal. A three-time final­ist for the Gov­er­nor General’s Award for Trans­la­tion, Éric Fontane has trans­lat­ed over twen­ty works, includ­ing those of Michael Crum­mey, Craig David­son, Zsuzsi Gart­ner, Tom Gauld, and Emi­ly Schultz. His first trans­la­tion, You com­ma Idiot, (2010) (T’es con, point) by Doug Har­ris, received the 2012 Cole Foun­da­tion Prize from the Que­bec Writ­ers’ Foun­da­tion. He has been award­ed res­i­den­cies at the Banff’s Inter­na­tion­al Lit­er­ary Trans­la­tion Cen­tre (BILTC) and the Col­lège inter­na­tion­al des tra­duc­teurs lit­téraires, in Arles. In 2018, he was a mem­ber of the BILTC fac­ul­ty. He lives in Montreal.
